Afternoon Tea at the Jonesboro Greenhouse |
Afternoon tea at the Jonesboro Greenhouse is an eclectic mixture of the best of English and Southern American traditions. You might find country and city ham biscuits served alongside scones with lemon curd. Pecan pie and home-made sour cream and peach pound cake. Old Southern Recipes with new Culinary twists. |
The Tea menu at the Jonesboro Greenhouse changes each month to coincide with seasonal and holiday celebrations. Several times very special teas are held for charity events….. such as our “Teddy Bear Tea.”
Reservations for Tea must be made two weeks in advance.
There are no choices to make as you are seated and begin to look over the menu. Course after course is brought to your table on silver trays and antique hand painted china, dressed with fresh and dried flowers, accompanied by the quiet piano music of the Old South. |
The idea of Afternoon Tea is enjoying a renaissance across the country as fine hotels and inns offer this opportunity to retreat from the hurried pace of the world and enjoy conversation and beautifully prepared foods in a gracious setting. |
Teas are held at the customary “4 o’ clock”, and are $20.00 per person (gratuity not included). This is Formal ‘High Tea’ which includes a selection of teas, sandwiches, scones, and deserts.
